How to Clean Your Coffee PotCleaning in your kitchen some days seems like an endless chore, but to have  to clean all of your appliances you utilize on a daily basis is even more work. Some of the smaller ones do not need as much maintenance as you may think and you can save a lot of time cleaning them right just when they need it versus each day. If you happen to be coffee lover then you may be wondering exactly how to clean your coffee pot.

With millions of people craving that morning cup of coffee, it is a good idea to keep your coffee pot clean to ensure the flavor is always fresh. When you neglect to clean it effectively, the deposits from water sitting in it all day can ruin the pot as well as take away from that taste and aroma you love. Not to mention the aesthetic issues you create when you do not clean your coffee pot enough, as it can look very unappealing with spots and dirt caked on it. One method for cleaning the coffee pot is to throw it in the dishwasher, you will have to separate the lid and still wipe out the bin where the grinds are held in the actual machine, but if you do toss it in the dishwasher two or three times per week it will stay clean.

Another solution is to use some vinegar, mix it with water and fill your coffee pit with the solution. Pour In the solution just as you would fill your pot up with water and turn on the appliance. One the cycle is complete, you can shut it off and permit the water solution to sit in the pot for a little while. This will eliminate any deep set stains and make your pot appear much cleaner and looking just like new again. Dump the water mix out into the drain and carefully rinse out all of the solution to ensure you are not leaving any vinegar in the pot to ruin the taste of your freshly brewed coffee.

Some use lemon juice and warm water to clean their coffee pots in a similar fashion.  This practice can cleanse it and keep it smelling fresh, however many feel it may leave a lemon flavor to your coffee afterward for a few pots. Of course there is the age old alternative of soap and water to hand wash your coffee pot, but you have to commit to keeping it clean each time you use it. At the very least, you should always wipe the coffee pot out after each use and take the used filter out and toss in the trash. Do not leave the used filters in the pots as they can attract fruit flies and cause your kitchen to not smell very good. Some of the newer coffee pots are being designed to have a built in cleaning function, but they have yet to come at an affordable price for the whole world to enjoy.
