How to Choose a MattressChoosing the best mattress is key for a great night’s sleep and also to ensure you will feel your best in the morning. Everyone knows what it feels like when you wake up after you have had a rough night of sleep or after you have slept in an awkward position and you are sore for hours, sometimes even days. Buying the best mattress will help you feel better and sleep longer with more comfort each night.

Firstly, when you purchase your mattress you must always lay on it and not just sit on it.  Some people feel odd laying on them, but why purchase a mattress that is only good for sitting on it when you will have to sleep on it for years to come. You want to ensure it will be supportive enough with comfortable coils in it that will contour to your body shape. Many people assume they need to find a mattress that is very soft and while you do want to be comfortable, your mattress should not be too soft as it will not be supportive enough for your back, neck and spine. Always test the bed you are looking at as well as your spouse to ensure you both like it and that it is comfortable to rest on for hours.

Firm mattresses are great for being very supportive, but for many they simply are not very comfortable. They do not come with all of the additional padding and pillow tops that look very appealing in the showrooms. Some certainly are harder than others, but overall they are the best suitable for the vast majority of people to sleep on each night. The plush ones are very soft that contain a plush lining over the mattress coils to ensure a very cozy sleep. Always consider any health ailments you may be suffering from before you purchase your mattress, if your doctor suggests a firm mattress for additional support then be sure to aim for one of those. If you seek the help of a chiropractor, then also inquire which ones they feel may be more suitable for your needs as they do have a vast knowledge of which mattresses are better for back pain and neck pain. You may find that after sleeping on a better mattress you are not in as much pain everyday. You also will be more energized during the week and not feel as groggy in the mornings.

Just as what mattress you select is crucial for good health, the amount of pillows you rest on will also determine how well you feel. If you have snoring issues, you may be better off sleeping with two pillows and for neck pain you may only need instead of two to rest with your neck properly aligned. Look into the delivery and warranty of your mattress as well. Do not purchase one that charges a small fortune for delivery as you can find endless retailers that will not only deliver your mattress for free, but dispose of the old one you have as well.
